Undergraduate business majors from Nyack recently participated in the Federal Reserve Bank’s College Challenge. Gene Baca, K’Coneil Barron, Daniel Carpenter, Abigail Davis, Elizabeth Hollywood, and Andres Martinez were on the Nyack team. Each of these students is a member of Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society for business, accounting, and economics.
Department Head for Business and advisor to the group, Professor Susanne Hartl, reports that the Nyack students boldly tackled questions, even on unfamiliar topics in last week’s competition. Schools that went on to the final round were SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, Boston College, and Rutgers University. Among the select group of colleges that participated and did not advance to the finals were Columbia University, New York University, and Fordham University. The 2004 Nyack team found this a positive experience and would encourage students to participate next year.
