TESOL Programs Offered

Graduate (All graduate degree programs are offered only in an online format)

1. -  M.A.T.  in TESOL (Initial certification)

A two year graduate degree that prepares students for public school teaching, teaching in Christian schools, and teaching overseas.  Student who complete this program will be prepared to receive New York State Certification.

2. -  M.S. in TESOL (Additional certification)

A two year graduate degree that prepares students for public school teaching, teaching in Christian schools, and teaching overseas.

3. -  M.S. in TESOL (No certification)

A two year graduate degree that prepares students for school teaching, teaching in Christian schools, and teaching overseas.  This degree does not offer students New York State Certification

Concentrations

1. Cross Cultural Studies Major with TESOL Concentration (21 Credits)-Designed for students who wish to work cross-culturally by teaching English as a second language. May be taken as a terminal program or preparation for graduate studies. Courses include:

2. English Major with TESOL Concentration(15 credits) -Designed for students who wish to add to their English degree, a specialization in teaching English as a second language  Courses include:

3.Childhood/Early Childhood Education Major with TESOL Concentration (15 credits) - Designed for students who wish to add to their Childhood Education degree, a specialization in teaching English as a second language.  Courses include:

ENG 201/ 202 - Global Literature                  ENG 352 - History of the English Language
ENG 353 - English Grammar and Phonology   ENG 354 - Second Language Acquisition    
ENG- elective 

Integration with the Interdisciplinary Studies – B.S.
Students in the Bachelor of Science program may integrate one discipline from the arts and sciences with a professionally oriented discipline, including TESOL.
