Greetings from the School of Music at Nyack College. Here on the Rockland County campus (Nyack, NY) we offer degree programs in Music Performance, Music Education, Church Music, Composition, and the Liberal Arts Music degree. You will find detailed information on the music program by visiting the web pages listed on the right.
Nyack College Rockland campus is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music, and its various degree programs are founded on the study of classical music from its earliest beginnings to its most contemporary forms. Music for worship is also woven through the curriculum since most of our students and alumni are active in ministries involving music. There are also opportunities to be part of contemporary worship through student-led vocal and instrumental groups on campus.
Music Achievement Grants are available for music majors, and Music Ensemble Achievement Grants are available for all other majors by auditioning for one of the School of Music Ensembles. Detailed information concerning ensembles, the audition process, and music grants can be found by visiting the pages listed on the left.
Performing opportunities are numerous for musicians at Nyack College, and students are encouraged to participate in recitals and concerts as often as possible. Our location in the New York Metropolitan area enables our students to attend outstanding performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and many cathedrals and churches. Performances can include the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, resident ballet companies, and solo and chamber music programs. West Point, with its fine concert series, is also a short drive from Nyack.
I wish you God’s best in all of your endeavors and trust that the Lord will direct your plans for college music study.
Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Glenn Koponen, Dean
