Dr. Ronald Belsterling  Professor of Youth Ministry Phone: 4519  B.A. Grove City College; M.S. Villanova University; Ph.D. Biola University Ron Belsterling ( Ron.Belsterling@nyack.edu) was born and raised in the Pittsburgh (home of the Steelers and Penguins) area of Pennsylvania. He met his wife Julie at Grove City College where they both attended in the early eighties. They have been married for almost 25 years and have 3, by the grace of God, saved & wonderful, children: Sam attends Grove City College and majors in Business Communications/PR, Joe is finishing High School and plays lacrosse and basketball, Emily attends High School and participates in tennis and Odyssey of the Mind. Ron is in his 2nd decade of teaching at Nyack.
He accepted Christ at a Billy Graham event as a child. The seed didn't produce fruit until years later. Near the end of highschool, Ron began reading the Bible. During college, commitment to God became whole hearted devotion (as opposed to select bits & pieces). God has been abundantly merciful and gracious to him.
Ron has attended: Grove City College (B.A.-Double Major: Religion & Psychology); Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (36 credit hours); Villanova University (M.S. in Counseling); Syracuse University (A.B.D. Child & Family Studies); and, Biola University (Ph.D. in Education). His academic study focuses on adolescents and attachment relationships.
Ministry and work with teenagers and children continues to occur through regular speaking, preaching and writing opportunities, and Ron's involvement in Young Life (Tri-State YL Committee Chair, approved driver, etc.); his Church (VBS, Upwards Basketball, & 5th Quarter [post-HS football game youth gatherings]); and providing consulting to the Cross and Crown Foundation (global effort to bring water, etc..to those in depressed areas). Dr. Stephen Bennett  Professor of Bible Phone: 4517  Bachelor of Commerce Auckland University; M.Div., M.A. Nazarene Theological Seminary; Ph.D. Manchester University Dr. Frank Chan  Professor of Bible Phone: 5748  B.A. Wheaton College; M.A. Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; Ph.D. Westminster Theological Seminary Frank Chan began teaching at Nyack in 1999 and became Department Head in 2005. He has a B.A. from Wheaton College, an M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a Ph.D. from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is an active member of the Evangelical Theological Society and serves on the steering committee for the Northeast Regional chapter. He is working on a book on apostleship in the NT period. Dr. Chan teaches New Testament Literature, Hermeneutics, Theology Seminar and other electives. He enjoys spending time with his wife and his four young children. He is a licensed worker with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and the head elder at Risen King Alliance Church in New City, NY.
Dr. Elio Cuccaro  Professor of Bible Phone: 4514  B.S. Cornell University; M.Div., S.T.M. Biblical School of Theology; M.Phil., Ph.D. Drew University Elio Cuccaro is an ordained minister of the C&MA, has been teaching at Nyack since 1977. He has a B.S. from Cornell University, an M.Div. and S.T.M from The Biblical School of Theology, and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Drew University. He served the Alliance as a bi-vocational pastor for a decade and as Editor of the Alliance Academic Review for seven years. Since 1990, he has taught and modeled preaching at the Salvation Army School for Officer Training in Suffern, NY. Elio teaches Bible Doctrines, Christian Worldview. Romans, Latin, Science and the Bible, many of our systematic theology electives, the Department Honors Courses and the four-course sequence in the history of theology. Avocationally, he enjoys gardening and landscaping. He is an Elder of Living Christ Church in Nyack, NY and is married with two grown children and one grandson. Dr. Amy Davis  Assistant Professor of Bible Phone: 4515  B.A. Grove City College; M.Div. Alliance Theological Seminary; Ph.D. Drew University Dr. Amy F. Davis has been teaching since 1995. She began her this career in Paraguay, using her education degree from Grove City College. Since 2002 she has been teaching at Nyack College, after completing her M.Div. from Alliance Theological Seminary. In 2010 she earned her Ph.D. in Liturgical Studies from Drew University with a dissertation entitled, "Rites of Passage for Evangelical Women." In Nyack's undergraduate program, Old Testament Literature, New Testament Literature and Christian Thought are the core courses that she teaches. The electives she instructs have included Greek, Systematic Theology I, Genesis, Jeremiah & Ezekiel, Acts, Corinthians Letters, Historical Theology, Worship: Ancient and Future, Classic Christian Spirituality, Male and Female in Biblical Perspective, and Saints and Remembrance. Worship Arts and Discipline is her first seminary course, and she will co-teach it with Kelvin Walker. Amy co-leads Global-Service Learning trips, with destinations that have included Israel, Turkey, Egypt, and Syria. She prioritizes experiential learning, and whether in the United States or abroad, she brings passion and intellect to her teaching, writing, academic presentations, preaching, and ministry. In her free time, she enjoys competitive sports, photography, climbing mountains, travel, learning languages, and the creative arts. She attends Risen King Alliance Church in New City, NY. Dr. Thomas Donworth  Associate Professor of Bible Phone: 6147  B.A. University of Texas; Th.M. Dallas Theological Seminary; D.Min. Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Tom has been teaching at Nyack since 1989. He has a B.A. from the University of Texas, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell Seminary. Upon graduation from college, he worked with Campus Crusade for Christ for four years. In addition to being an Associate Professor of Bible, he is also the part-time pastor of Dunwoodie Baptist Church in Yonkers, New York. North American Baptist Seminary; Ph.D. Fordham University Len Kageler, Ph.D. (Leonard.Kageler@nyack.edu) is Professor of Youth Ministry. Before coming to Nyack full time in 1993 he spent 20 years as a full time youth pastor. He continues to minister to youth as a junior high volunteer at Living Christ Church here in Nyack.
Len received his BA from the University of Washington, his M.Div. from the North American Baptist Seminary, and a Ph.D. (Sociology) from Fordham University in New York City. He speaks and presents seminars around North America and the world. He has written many books, including: two for youth, three for parents of teenagers, and four for youth workers. In 2012-2013 Len will present academic papers and conferences in Dallas Texas and Cambridge University in the UK. His newest book, Youth Ministry in a Pluralistic Culture, will be published by InterVarsity Press in 2013.
Len is married to Janet and has three daughters. He is a serious runner and loves to backpack and ski.
