Admissions Process (Download Forms Below)
  • Completed and signed application with $30 non-refundable application fee.
  • Christian Experience Statement.
  • Essay Questions (Short Answer Response).
  • Pastoral Reference from an individual whom the applicant has known for at least one year and is not a relative.
  • Academic Reference from a professor who can accurately assess the applicant’s ability to successfully complete a graduate-level program.
  • Second Academic Reference (if out of school for more than 5 years, a professional reference can be submitted).
  • Official undergraduate transcript.  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.  In order to certify academic eligibility, students need to have an official transcript from the college or university that awarded the degree sent to the Graduate Admissions Office.  International transcripts must be submitted to World Education Services.
  • GRE taken within the last five years.  Minimum scores required:  153 Verbal, 150 Quantitative, 4.5 Writing. Students must have official GRE score sent to the Nyack College Graduate Admissions Office.  For further information about the GRE and how to prepare for the test visit:
  • Successful completion of the proficiency examination in Biblical Hebrew.
  • Writing sample.  A full paper that reflects student’s writing ability should be submitted. Examples include, but are not limited to, an honor’s thesis, a research proposal or a term paper for a class. A research-based paper in the field is preferable, but not required. 
  • Immunization Records.  Documentation of appropriate vaccination for measles, mumps, and rubella must be provided in accordance with the New York State Health Regulations for colleges.

International applicants must complete these additional requirements:

  • TOEFL with a minimum score to 550 (paper), 213 (computer) or 80 (internet version). School Code 2560
  • International Bachelor’s Degree Transcript submitted to World Education Services
  • Affidavit of Support
  • Visa and Passport copies for you and any family members


Computer Literacy:

Students in the graduate programs will use an online environment for a portion of their learning.  Technology skills are necessary for successful completion of the program.  Applicants to the program should be able to:  send and receive email, open or send an email attachment, conduct research using the Internet, use Microsoft Word, and download files.  Students are required to have access to a computer and the Internet.
